Jerry's Story

I was the chair of the Social Studies Dept. at the Los Angeles County H.S. for the Arts for 25 years. I am now teaching part time. (I have been teaching for 52 years). I married a divorced woman with three young children almost 35 years ago. The kids are now in their 40's. I have three fabulous grandchildren. Most of my former students are either from Flushing H.S. ught in a variety of public and private schools in the years between FHS and LACHSA. In addition to other recognitions, I was given a teaching award by Claes Nobel, the patriarch of the Nobel family. Getting something to eat at Factors Deli in West L.A. I hear someone call my name - of course it’s a LACHSA alum!! Kole Hoffman (class of 2016) who works there during the summer. I love running into these amazing people!!
